The historic Hapuawhenua Viaduct is an extraordinary structure that you can discover on the Mountains to Sea cycle trail. It is 284 meters long, 45 metres above the stream below and built in a long sweeping curve. No longer suitable for trains, it’s used only by cyclists and walkers.
